AFTER A CHANCE VISIT..........with Mary Armentrout of Timberwind Cattery, while on a trip to Maine in 1995,
we determined our goal was to eventually purchase, and be owned by, a Maine Coon Cat.

Mary's advice for obtaining a kitten was to find a local breeder,
then look, listen, and leave, waiting a few days to make a final decision.

It was good advice and we tried to follow it, but discovered when we met Libby Watkins (Katmaindu Cattery)
and her litter of 16 week old Maine Coon kittens, that the "leaving part" was impossible.

We arrived home on that March night in 1997 with our first, Katmaindu's Wiscasset Pine Coon
(named after a beautiful town in Maine on the Sheepscot River and the Maine State flower).

Cassie is brown mackeral tabby, a total sweetheart and our beautiful lady.  We like to say this is all her fault.

Since that fateful night we *have* been looking, listening, and learning.....and are now the proud humans of many
wonderful, playful, loving Maine Coon cats whose pictures, tales, and tails follow.....plus our original three
domestic shorthair kitties who arrived from various sources.

ACADIACOONS SEPTEMBER 2004

AFTER A CHANCE VISIT..........with the friend of a new "Coonlet Mom", we received this note, posted with her permission:

"I was delighted when my friend asked me to help pick up her two kittens from Acadiacoons Cattery, just west of the city of
St. Louis, Missouri.  Having lived with cats of every size and breed my entire life, I was looking forward to my visit.

I was amazed at what I experienced at Acadiacoons.  There were tiny "coonlets" playing as adult Maine Coons watched;
cats were grooming, cats were sunning and enormous "Moose" was sitting on his black bench
just as he is on Acadiacoons' website gallery page.  I was in love with these cats!

Then, as if I needed further convincing, a gorgeous male jumped up on the table, put his arms around my neck and began purring!

Nancy and John, that's just not playing fair!

John and Nancy have found the secret formula for raising beautiful, healthy, loving Maine Coons.
Their cats are more stunning than their photos on the internet.  They are all very social and carefully groomed.

My friend left for Las Vegas the next day with her kittens, Tahoe and Sierra.  They flew first class with their Mom
and were perfect little girls.  However, when an airline attendant spotted them, out of the carrier they came
and were cuddled by passengers the rest of the flight.

They are now home and have met their Dad and an adult female cat, Saleen.

In the not-too-distant future my cats will welcome an Acadiacoons Coonlet (or maybe two) into their home.
After meeting John and Nancy and visiting their cattery, I know that our Coonlets will be from Acadiacoons."

Thank you, Suzanne, for visiting us and for your kind words !!!
Please come back any time.
